Tradition dictates that on the Friday before Christmas Eve fire heralds the arrival of Christmas in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

A night when the magical light of more than 15,000 candles serves to decorate the mediaeval quarter of Vitoria-Gasteiz and its main squares: Plaza del Matxete, Los Arquillos, Balconada de San Miguel, Plaza de Burullerías.

The most important places in the mediaeval quarter, the walls, Los Faroles museum, the archaeology museum, the Portalón, the Torre de Doña Otxanda, the Palacio Escoriaza Esquível and the Palacio Villasuso are also decorated.

As a complement to this, all those visiting ‘Candle´s night’ will enjoy a play with music, dance and fireworks, as well as mulled-wine samples.
